Hurricane Sheds storms into storage industry

In less than a year, Hurricane Sheds has taken the storage industry by storm with its high quality hurricane resistant wood sheds.

The new Hurricane Shed line of custom built storage sheds is changing the face of the storage industry in Southwest Florida, providing residents with an alternative to pre-fab structures, according to owner Adam Frisinger. Hurricane Sheds are the most durable wood shed on the market built to withstand 160 mph hurricane force winds, and they are built on a homeowner’s site to match the home.

“Many of the pre-fab sheds sold in the region didn’t meet Florida wind requirements,” Frisinger said.  “As many residents discover every time a tropical storm comes through, metal sheds will dent and damage easily, yet, they aren’t easily fixed.”

With his experienced construction background, Adam decided to build wood storage sheds that would meet Florida’s 160 mph wind requirement and still look great in your backyard.  He quickly realized that residents had to go through a time consuming costly permitting process under Florida regulations and that no other shed builder offered to do this for the consumer.  Not long after, he began offering to pull the permits.

Frisinger explains that all the homeowner has to do is specify the size wanted, the location on the property, the color paint (which he adds is free), and any additional options that they choose among them included are ramps, windows, shelves, skylights, etc.  Then, Hurricane Sheds has the required engineering plans drawn up from a local professional, seeks out all required permits from the county, and once achieved, builds the panels in their climate controlled facility.  Once the panels are finished, they are brought to the location and constructed on site in one day.
Frisinger adds that he then meets with inspectors and finishes up your storage shed exactly the way you envisioned it!
Hurricane Sheds is located at 260 Blue Juniper Blvd., Venice Fl, 34292.  Installs are done by Platinum Solar Homes  FL License # CBC1255629.  To contact by phone, 941-488-0300, or visit www.hurricaneshed.com.

Wood Shed vs. Metal, which is the best option for me?

One question on many minds when considering a storage shed for the backyard is whether they should go with metal or wood.  First thing you’ll say to yourself is that so many sheds seem to be made of metal.  Everywhere I look is a metal shed!  Also, after you compare prices you’ll find that metal sheds may be the cheaper option, but, not the correct one if you are looking for a long-lasting, durable, looks-great shed that compliments your backyard.

Let’s face it.  Wood sheds are more durable.  They are built on site by the manufacturer.  With a metal shed bought at the big retail outlets, you most likely will have purchased a kit that you have to take home and put together yourself.  Most metal sheds are made of a thin grade, they dent easy, but aren’t so easily fixable.  All of you Southwest Florida residents who own a metal shed and have suffered through a hurricane or even tropical storm probably know what I’m talking about.  Right now, in your backyard you have a metal shed with plenty of dent damage, if it’s still standing at all.

With a wood shed purchased at HurricaneShed.com, you’ll have a durable shed built to meet Florida’s 160 mph wind requirements using only the finest quality products and lumber.  They are built to last, and to make sure, Hurricane Sheds are given a free paint coating to match your home (if desired) and sprayed by Truly Nolan to guard against termites.  The free paint coating prevents rotting.  Also, wood sheds are built on a foundation.  Metal shed kits aren’t and you have to endure extra costs to lift them off the moist Florida ground.

Let’s not forget about the looks.  A wood shed compliments your backyard, especially after it’s painted to match your home.  You can also have many options added to your shed that metal sheds don’t afford.  Such as windows, skylights, wood shelves for more storage space, entrance ramp, flood vents, and more.

So in the end, what’s better?  A metal shed or a wood shed?  If you’re willing to spend a few more bucks, the better option is a wood shed for durability, hurricane-resistance, looks, and the add-on options.

Tight Spots...No Problem!

“Most storage shed buyers want durable, affordable sheds without the hassles.  That’s exactly what you find with Hurricane Sheds.  We build the shed at your location to your specifications.  You want a tall shed, we’ll build it for you.  You want a 24’ shed, we’ll build it for you.  You want it attached to your home, we’ll do that too,” Frisinger said.  He added that their sheds can be built in tight spaces that many homeowners are confronted with.
“I was so impressed with the quality of this beautiful shed addition to my new home in Sarasota that I wished I had more backyards,” said Dave Holliday of his new Hurricane Shed.  “The whole Hurricane Shed team was very professional and kind and did exceptional work.”
